Angie Malorni (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University School of Social Work. She holds a Ph.D., M.S.W, and M.P.A. all from the University of Washington.

Her research interests span a number of critical youth issues including: socio-political development, critical perspectives of Social-Emotional Learning, social media, out-of-school-time learning, school climate and Youth Participatory Action Research methods.

She has a professional background in youth work. She has worked a variety of roles in the out-of-school-time and youth development fields, including: direct service & facilitation, mentoring & coaching, curriculum writing, program design, staff training and program evaluation (including youth-led participatory evaluation). She has also facilitated county-wide learning community meetings for youth workers to collaborate and build relationships around issues in the youth development field. She also is an experienced community organizer, working around labor, tenant, youth, and abolition.
